Ahead Gear was launched in 1991 and over the years has grown into one of the market leaders in the corporate gift and promotional clothing industry.
We are conveniently located in Ndabeni, Cape Town with a fully stocked showroom. We supply and manufacture a wide range of apparel and staff uniforms which include t-shirts, golf shirts, ladies wear, woven shirts, jackets, polar fleece items, caps, chinos, knitwear, fleece blankets and more.
Our promotional gifts include bags, desktop accessories, pens, mugs, flash drives and much more.
We are full supply company, delivering a product which has been branded to your specifications (print or embroidery), inspected by our quality control division before and after branding and packed to your distribution requirements.
Whilst Ahead Gear supplies ready-made stock-line items in both the garment and gift sector, we do manufacture garments in our on-site factory to meet your exact requirements. This was originally the cornerstone of our business and still remains one of our key focus points.
We are very experienced in assisting you to conceptualise attractive yet practical staff apparel with an emphasis on longevity, affordability and long-term re-ordering viability.
Ahead Gear is also able to assist with the manufacture of retail fashion ranges for boutiques and stores.

What sets us apart is the fact that Ahead Gear has its own dedicated factory on site which, with the expert guidance and supervision of Ahead Gear production and management staff, is operated by a team of independent women, all very experienced in the garment manufacturing industry but essentially operating their own enterprise on our premises.
This manufacturing operation is the result of a mentoring initiative run by Ahead Gear, which assists and guides this team in all aspects of running one’s own business in South Africa.
We recently set up an in-house embroidery division, giving us more control, speed and price-competitiveness.
Ahead Gear is a BEE Rated organisation, with a BEE Status of Level 4.
Ahead Gear is able to custom-make any apparel item to your specific design using a wide variety of fabrics and trims. We also use up to date branding techniques – ranging from screen-printing and embroidery, to sublimation, glitter and metallic prints, digital printing and flocking.Our range is also diverse – bush jackets and shirts, bandanas, fleece and picnic blankets, rain ponchos, shirts and blouses, trousers and pants, scarves, beanies, denim jackets and more.
